Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a slow-growing cancer, but misinformation about it can spread fast. This session will help clear up some of the most common misconceptions while going over etiology, symptoms, and diagnosis. Although there is no cure for CTCL, prompt and proper management often allows many patients to enjoy long lives that are symptom-free.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss why diagnosing CTCL is particularly challenging
  • Discuss how to stage a new patient with suspected CTCL; how and when to use flow cytometry, clonality studies; and how to best help your dermatopathologist
  • Examine why skin biopsy isn’t sufficient for excluding Sézary
