Dr. Bridget E. Shields is an Assistant Professor in the department of dermatology at the University of Wisconsin (UW). She completed a complex medical dermatology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania after serving as chief dermatology resident in the department of dermatology at UW. Dr. Shields is a member of the inpatient consultation service at UW and her clinical practice is focused on complex medical dermatology, including the management of cutaneous disease in patients with underlying gastrointestinal disorders. She directs granulomatous and neutrophilic disorders clinics at UW, and her research centers on elucidating the molecular pathways underlying granulomatous and neutrophilic skin diseases. She aims to explore targeted therapies available for these conditions to improve the lives of her patients. Dr. Shields has published numerous peer reviewed articles and books chapters, and serves as an Assistant Section Editor for JAMA Dermatology.
