Plaque psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis are common and potentially serious dermatologic IMISCs that affect a substantial proportion of the US and world population. Although the pathophysiology of these diseases is not completely understood, knowledge has advanced in recent years, and this increase in understanding has been applied to the development of novel, improved treatments. Topical PDE-4 inhibitors are proving to have an important role in the treatment of these diseases and offer an alternative, particularly for steroid-sensitive cases. It is crucial that clinicians who care for these patients remain apprised of recent developments and emerging drugs that may lead to improved outcomes.

Outline ongoing challenges in the management of IMISCs, including plaque psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis
Describe the mechanism of action associated with PDE-4 inhibition in IMISCs
Evaluate the most recent efficacy and safety data associated with current and emerging topical PDE-4 inhibitors for the treatment of IMISCs
