Most commonly occurring on the chest, shoulders, back, and ears, keloids are firm, raised scars that expand past the borders of injured skin. Early treatment can include a combination of steroid injections, radiation, and more. Surgery is also an option in certain cases, although there is the possibility that a keloid may grow back. This informative session will review the characteristics of keloids while discussing some of the best ways to reduce their appearance.

  • Review the pathophysiology and epidemiology of keloids
  • Discuss tips for treatment with intralesional kenalog
  • Discuss other less commonly utilized treatments (5-Fluorouracil, Cryotherapy, Radiation)
