With causes such as infection or allergy, cutaneous vasculitis is a rare disease that is often limited to the skin in the form of purple/red rashes. But this inflammation of blood vessels may also be a sign of something deeper. This session will peel back the layers of cutaneous vasculitis, including what to look for, how to diagnose, when to be concerned about a more serious infection, and what treatment options are available.

  • Explain why we see what we see in vasculitis
  • Discuss a systematic and evidence-based approach to evaluation of vasculitis presenting in the skin
  • Illustrate diagnosis and management pearls via short case presentations
