Anthony Fernandez completed his dermatology residency at the University of Miami, Florida and a dermatopathology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He currently practices both medical dermatology and dermatopathology at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and serves as Director of medical dermatology, W.D. Steck Chair of Clinical Dermatology, and Co-Medical Director of Continuing Medical Education. He is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
Clinically, he specializes in treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases with prominent cutaneous involvement. His research interests mirror his clinical interests, with ongoing projects involving psoriasis, dermatomyositis, lupus erythematosus, and cutaneous vasculitis. He is also active in a variety of national professional organizations. He currently is an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Board of Directors member in the American Society of Dermatopathology, and a member of Healio’s Dermatology and Psoriasis Peer Perspective Boards.
